Videojet Technologies, a leading global provider of coding, marking and printing solutions, today announced the availability of a new PROFINET workflow module for the Videojet 1860 continuous inkjet printer. PROFINET is an oPen industrial Ethernet standard for automation that enables data communication between multiple devices.
Previous VOC research conducted by Videojet has shown that increasing productivity and reducing downtime are key factors in most manufacturing environments. Today’s manufacturers depend on uptime and continuous improvement, and with high operating costs and productivity demands, accurate communication is critical.
The enhanced Videojet 1860 CIJ printer is now available with a new PROFINET workflow module, which provides immediate machine status visibility, real-time performance and data exchange for automation applications, thereby minimising the frequency of unplanned downtime. The new workflow module supports high-speed messaging between the Videojet 1860 CIJ printer and PLC, ensuring easy installation for manufacturers experienced with industrial protocols.
PROFINET users can connect multiple Videojet 1860 CIJ printers to a single I/O controller via PROFINET switches and networks. This offers manufacturers many benefits, including maximum flexibility in adapting plant concepts, greater efficiency and optimal use of resources, and high throughput for increased productivity.
New workflow modules now available for the Videojet 1860 CIJ printer are designed to deliver a smarter way to print. With built-in intelligence and connectivity, the 1860 CIJ printer delivers exceptional uptime, predictability and productivity for manufacturers today, tomorrow and into the future.
