Markem Imaje is a system designed specifically for QR code printing and was launched in anticipation of the GS1 Sunrise 2027 market transformation.
Welcome to Pack Expo 2024. We are now at the Markem Imaje booth. I am Mark Boksa, Markem-Imaje's Director of Sales for North America. Today we are introducing several new products, and I am standing next to the recently launched 9712 inkjet printer.
This printer allows us to run two nozzles, allowing us to print larger print areas at higher speeds, and with the new 2D revolution and Sunrise 2027 coming, we will be able to continue printing 2D codes and QR codes to help fulfill this plan.
In addition to 9712, we are also showcasing COLOS, our software suite that is ready to help you with the new FSMA regulations coming into effect in January 2026 and is capable of converting 2D barcodes. The regulation will be implemented in 2027 with GS One and Sunrise 2027. We also showcased some of our other products on our stand today.
Here on the right we show our 50W and 100W fiber lasers, which can print at high speed on beverage cans and aluminum products. Today at the show we introduced a UV laser, which can do high-speed printing on film and HDP (high-density printing) products.
As we walked around the stand, we saw other examples of equipment, such as the 9750 continuous ink printer. We also have new 60W laser printers that can print at high speed on cardboard boxes, cartons, and PET bottles. To the left of that is the 5940G Technology, a cardboard box printer with high-resolution code printing, the ability to print 1D and 2D barcodes, and the ability to connect the printer to a network.
Next to it is our 2200 printer, a print and label system equipped with an eTouch electronic labeler that can print on a variety of cardboard box sizes. Turning around, we see the Kolos software with instructions on the wall explaining all the features Kolos can provide to customers.
